HA family and community members came out in full force on Sunday night as both exhibitors and supporters of our second HALink Business Networking Event. Over 50 vendors networked with about 200 visitors at Silver Star Mercedes-Benz of Montreal’s showroom over wine and tasty desserts.
Launched in 2013 by HA parents Lorne Lieberman (’89) and Ilan Dahan expressly for Hebrew Academy stakeholders, HALink’s driving force is the Talmudic dictum “All Jews are responsible for one other” (Shavuot 39:1) and the belief that the success of HA businesspeople ultimately helps the community and the school to flourish. As such, the event’s objective is to encourage HA family members to support their peers first and foremost when seeking a product or business.
Sunday night provided an opportunity for vendors and guests to mix and mingle with friends old and new representing every industry from construction and real estate, to technology and HR – and everything in between (even bass fishing!).
We extend our sincere thanks to Silver Star Mercedes-Benz of Montreal for once again opening their beautiful showroom to our community as HALink hosts and official sponsors. Thank you as well to Hebrew Academy staff members Barbara Rotenberg, Jacqui Silbiger, Alisa Azoulay, Georgette Chriqui and Danielle Zagury for dedicating both their energies and time to the event’s success.
Acharon Chaviv, the night would not have been possible were it not for the initiative and vision of two Hebrew Academy leaders who invest their emotional and physical resources time and time again to creating feel-good events that yield the greatest return on investment for our school and Hebrew Academy family: achdut. Lorne and Ilan, your enthusiasm, volunteerism and dedication to the HA family are exemplary, and we cannot thank you enough for all that you do!
The word “link” in Hebrew is Shalshelet. As any HA alum can attest, it is a word that unites HA family members for it is the official name of the Hebrew Academy yearbook. As with the first HA Link, Sunday’s event further solidified the links that bind us as family!
