“No man ever reached to excellence in any one art or profession without having passed through the slow and painful process of study and preparation” – Horace

Horace, a poet of antiquity captures well, the overarching goals of our school both internal and external. Throughout our history, we have made every effort to ensure that our students strive for excellence in school and in their lives beyond graduation. It is our responsibility to ensure they have all the tools necessary to achieve those goals and to provide the process of study and preparation to do so.

Our Campaign for Excellence is not simply a label for our educational and building fund, but rather a code by which we conduct our school and a method by which we hope to inculcate values to our students.

Excellence in Education

Hebrew Academy is one of few schools nationwide to receive unconditional accreditation from the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools, is a recognized LEARN Community Learning Center and strives to continually meet and exceed educational standards set by the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport.

Capital Improvements

Launched during the 2011-2012 school year, our first Campaign for Excellence resulted in a brand new playground we were excited to inaugurate at the start of this, the 2012-2013 school year. We thank everyone who made this a reality.

Other recent capital improvements our entire school can be proud of include:

  • Our K-12 classrooms have gone digital with smartboards that provide students with an interactive learning experience
  • Our library was upgraded this year to enable our students to study and research in a more “computer-friendly” and relaxed environment. The area was rewired to allow more online access and modernized with new furniture and a redesigned look
  • The new HA website launched at the start of this school year presents the school’s many facets and highlights our student’s achievements. We welcome your continued feedback and suggestions particularly with regard to the parent and student portals.

Community Excellence

Among the intangibles we are so proud of, is the caring and compassionate learning environment and sense of family that the school endeavours to create. This is a community that cheers our students’ successes, but also pulls together in times of crisis both near and far. It is among the most important values we can bestow upon our students.

Going forward the Campaign for Excellence will support academic programs, experiential learning activities as well as capital improvements. It will help guarantee the school’s ongoing prosperity and ensure that all students who wish to pursue a strong Jewish and secular education can do so. Please join us on this journey!
